Auto Bailout - Who Wants it?

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Judging by the Letters to editor submitted, nobody - except for, of course, the politicians in Washington and the Detroit auto executives eager to save their own jobs and bonuses.

Rarely has an issue so unified the letter writers. They oppose it because:

  • Even if the Detroit Big 3 did not make any cars, the number of cars sold will not diminish just because of their demise.
  • The Big 3 just got greedy. Their CEO’s, despite being paid millions of dollars, had their eyes closed
  • “Why would congress subvert the Judicial Branch of Government’s application of Bankruptcy Laws?”
  • They should follow a non socialist’s guide to bailouts
  • This is not the time to just set aside party ideology - this is precisely the time for vigorous debate.
  • and the list goes on.

Bottom Line: The writers have no confidence in Auto Executives doing the right thing or the Legislators doing the right thing. They don’t want their tax dollar squandered. The question is  -who is listening?

I want to write an Op-Ed (Guest Letter)

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Here in a nutshell is everything that you need to know to write a Guest Letter (Op-Ed) in PublishaLetter.

A guest letter in PublishaLetter.com is like an Op-Ed in a traditional publication. It is typically 500 to 1,000 words long. It is posted only in this site and not forwarded to any newspaper or magazine.
We do make a significant distinction between the Letters to the Editors and the Guest Letters. We restrict the guest letters to those who have gained some authority in the topics they wish to write about. Although many writers may have interesting opinions, it is additionally important that the Guest Letter writers also have the experience and the subject matter expertise to defend and elaborate their opinions.

Submission of your Guest Letter constitutes your express consent to the terms and conditions outlined in PublishaLetter.com. You, the writer, are responsible for your writing and  must have the rights to your content  We reserve the right to reject any submission for any reason. Not all Guest Letters submitted are published Unlike Letters to the Editor your article may be edited and we will provide you with a final version for your approval before the article runs. Your submission to PublishaLettercom is non-exclusive and you will not be paid for your article.

If you believe that you could be a guest column contributor or know someone who could be, please contact us at info@publishaletter.com. Do not simply submit a guest letter through the normal Letter to the Editor submission form
