Now, an Open Letter to Lou Pritchett (No, not from Lou Pritchett)

Comments are often hidden behind Blog postings, with very few people seeing them. Comments are often, short, tart and occasionally badly written and abusive. So imagine our surprise when we found  a whole long open letter as a comment on this Blog’s Lou Pritchett posting. An Open Letter to Lou Pritchett, no less. (Note for more comments go to the Letter on Lou Pritchett letter in PublishaLetter.com)

Some will readily agree with the writer, some will strongly disagree. But the letter is well written and deserves wider viewing (rather than staying hidden behind as a comment). We leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions. So here it is.

AN OPEN LETTER TO LOU PRITCHETT

by Timothy Carroll

You are the umpteenth conservative I’ve had to listen to over my life

and just like Nixon you truly scare me.

You scare me because no one knows you and yet many will believe your propaganda letter. Our President wrote two books about himself if you want to know him.

You scare me because you didn’t read his books, which is what gave him royalties to pay off his and Michelle’s student loans. That upscale lifestyle you speak was their annual income of $430,000 in which 62% of it was Michelle’s (265,000). The remainder was his senate salary. This is public knowledge by the way.

You scare me to think that Hawaii is not culturally American, which is where he spent his life from birth to the age of six, in which his mother made the decision to move to Indonesia until returning years later. He came back to Hawaii for high school. Please don’t refer to him as not being culturally American because his mother chooses to leave and come back while he was six.

You scare me Lou because you believe that running a company and payroll will help us in mess brought on by the CEO’s from corporate America who are really gifted when it comes to payroll and CEO salaries.

You scare me to think that a man must have military experience to lead the military, I would like to tell you about the greatness of both the Adams and Jefferson and what they have done for this country with no military background, but let’s look at two modern ones- Wilson and FDR, hmmmm, I think those two might have helped us win a couple WORLD WARS!!!! With no Military background I wonder how they did that? You also scare me because you don’t realize Barrack’s grandfather joined the U.S. troops when we were attacked at Pearl Harbor when FDR called on him, who by the way helped raise him in Hawaii, I think his grandfather would have installed some American culture by this example alone.

You scare me to think that our President lacks humility and class while blaming others. Let’s see a direct quote “I screwed up” – President Barrack Obama in regards to his Daschle appointment. Well that seems pretty humble to me.

You scare me to think that there’s a correlation between a man who bombed buildings when Barrack was eight years old and decades later when they serve on the same educational board. Now he has ties to domestic terrorism! Really! I mean really? Come on; do better than that correlation to that old hippie Bill Ayers. Let’s see what the President said on YOUR Bill O’Reily show on 9-9-08 SEN. OBAMA: “This guy is not part of my campaign. He’s not some adviser of mine. He is somebody who worked on education issues in Chicago that I know. The problem that your viewers, your guys, your folks, the folks you champion, the problem you’re going through, the problems they’re going through with trying to pay their bills, trying to keep their job, trying to move up in this world, their problem isn’t Bill Ayers. It was Bill Ayers 40 years ago when he was blowing stuff up.” Do you know Lou how many men served along side Timothy Mcveigh in the U.S. Military, hundreds of thousands and all those troops are now terrorist associates right. Sounds a little far fetched.

You scare me to think that America’s never wrong and that admitting to doing wrong is in some sort of way unpatriotic, read some of Thomas Jefferson’s writings if you want to see how an intelligent man views a hypocritical country he’s trying to run when he himself is of moral integrity. We have made mistakes and it is ok to say sorry. The Nazi’s and Soviets thought they too were always right and I think history has proved them wrong when it comes to such arrogance. Such arrogance will never be respected let alone trusted.

You scare me to think that our President actually had a choice when it came to bailing out these fortune 500 companies that had failed miserable at the hands of the Bush administration economic policies that ran amuck along with the housing market. No one wants socialism, but you can’t let corporate mistakes ruin the whole country or even the world economy for that matter.

You scare me to think that you think the Health care system doesn’t need a complete overhaul. Everyone knows that, even the Republicans are trying their own health care reform bill. What actually scares me is that you probably don’t know anyone who has never had health insurance let alone watching your mother die while worrying about her own bills. Again President Obama- “For my mother to die of cancer at the age of 53 and have to spend the last months of her life in the hospital room arguing with insurance companies because they’re saying that this may be a pre-existing condition and they don’t have to pay her treatment, there’s something fundamentally wrong about that”. It scares me to think that you have no empathy for such people nor will you ever understand. Someone has to get involved or some of us will parish under the current system. Do you know that government health care has already been successful throughout Europe and our sister country Canada, why do we have to be behind the times with our medical care?

You scare me tremendously when you say that oil and other old sources of fuel that is untapped in this country and cause global warming are in preference of windmills. Okay? Based on what? Profits? Well then yes, anything else is destroying our planet. Again the world’s most renowned scientists all agree on this consistently already.

You scare me to think that President Obama is killing the golden goose, Bush administration has already been there, done that. AIG, Fannie Mae, and Freddy Mac have already inflated and killed the American Dream for the millions of Americans who now can’t pay their mortgage.

You scare me when you think the banks are being extorted. Read anything regarding the corruptness of the Federal Reserve and then talk to me about extortion and banks, they have extorted us throughout history and always will.

You scare me to think that the democrats don’t worry about how much it is going to cost us to clean up the Bush mess, billions is nothing when we start talking trillions. We all suffer now from your fear.

You scare me when you think that he doesn’t listen to intelligent opposition, yet he has appointed many republicans alongside of himself including John Mccue, the veteran congressman from upstate New York who joins his former colleague from Illinois, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood , and Utah Gov. Jon Hunstman , the ambassador-designate to China, are among the ranks of Republicans in the Obama administration, a list that nearly included New Hampshire Sen. Judd Gregg as Commerce Secretary. He even kept one of Bush’s cabinet memebers with Robert Gates as Secatary of Defense.

You scare the crap out of me when you think that President Obama believes he all-powerful and infinitely wise. When did he declare himself the second coming? Just because Oprah thinks he is the “ONE” doesn’t mean he does. Please stop twisting and believing everything Rush tells you. Again does the all-knowing ever say, “I screwed up”.

You scare me to think that the press gives him a free pass on everything. The media in itself is just one thing that has been wrong with this country for decades and now you blame our President today. The media is a puppet and some people have always known that and the first President to acknowledge that and use it to their advantage was a great republican I’m sure you idolize by the name of Ronald Reagan. In On Bended Knee, a book about the press and Reagan based on interviews with scores of journalists, news executives and Administration officials; there are numerous cases of self-censorship. The management of CBS News, allegedly the most liberal of America’s TV networks, ordered its Washington bureau-in particular White House correspondent Lesley Stahl-to tone down criticism of Reagan because ordinary Americans supposedly didn’t want to hear it. At the New York Times, correspondent Raymond Bonner was pulled off the Central America beat after his expose of a civilian massacre by US-trained forces in El Salvador angered Administration officials and their right-wing allies at the Wall Street Journal editorial page. A camera crew for ABC News filmed troops on their way to Grenada and got confirmation of the impending invasion from US officials in the region, but their executive producer in New York trusted an off-the-record denial by the Pentagon more than his own reporters and killed the story. He had the nickname Teflon Ron in this regard, what about the man who invented this game Lou?

You scare me to think that Limbaugh and O’Reily are not already looked upon as demons and propagandist among the majority of people in this country. They only sell seeds of hate and mistrust that leads ignorance to become rampant among the religious right. If Obama thinks that then why did he go on Bill’s show? They will have you believe that they are the ones being ousted and the mainstream media is on par with that “ Elite Black guy”. We know this already by them blaming then nominee Obama for the stock market crash in November before the election even started! Some intelligent people realize that President Obama did not have anything to do with the collapse of the U.S. economy and voted for him. Some don’t, and then again some people blame all Jews for the death of Jesus. When you go to Rush Limbaugh who was fired for racist comment regarding a black quarterback (Donovan Mcnabb) for your information, then expect to think like bigot if you listen to one.

You scare me because you prefer hate instead of common sense. When will you realize that your bipartisan right wing conservatism hate is a thing of the past? The people already know and have spoken. We DON’T believe you. We don’t believe in your fear that has already crippled the whole country since 9/11. We don’t believe in your fear of our first black president because he’s our first black president. Do you honestly think that we believe him to be an unknown, elite, un-American, financially inept, classless, terrorist sympathizer, who hates America but loves Europe and is also a corporate killing, socialist, extorter, who doesn’t listen to intelligent people like Rush Limbaugh because he thinks that he is Jesus Christ. Get a grip Lou! We don’t and never will believe in your fear, FDR has already warned us of your hate mongers and even stopped one by the name of Adolph while warning of another by the name of Joseph. When will we learn our lessons of fear mongering that you use are the same as Hitler used in scaring the German people that the Jews were out to get them? The same fear that drove Stalin to kill millions of innocent people. You either do not know history or you do and if you do my dear sir it is truly scary.

Finally, you scare me because some people will actually never read my letter and only yours. When do we have a world in which fear does not reign over freedom? When will all men and women be created equally in your eyes and those that believe your letter? When will the hate stop? When will the lies cease to exist? When will your children and mine be able to base people on there merits and not the words of others. When will we as one nation under God be just that? When? Hopefully soon because you are truly SCARING THE HELL OUT OF ME!

P.S. I know my letter is a little longer, but that happens when you include some facts in trying to tell someone that they no longer have to be afraid of the “Elite Black Devil”, he just might be good person after all. By the way the ones who should be really scared are the republicans. Letters like his is what killed your party and made it into a Southern Political Machine with no sign of any hope. Did I say HOPE? Cause now I finally have some! Oh yeah this letter doesn’t have to be initially anonymous either!

An Open Letter to Lou Pritchett:

    Dear Mr. Pritchett:

You don’t scare me, because after eight long years of this type of nonsense from those at your end of the political spectrum trying their best to ’scare’ me and everyone else in the world, most thinking people are now immune to your tactics of fear and misinformation.

You don’t scare me, because people who read newspapers instead of getting their information from Fox ‘News’ and diatribes like yours, understand that the fraudulent and irresponsible ’scaring’ of Americans is what led to the debacle in Iraq, the deaths of thousands of Americans and untold damage to our country, and to the subversion of the United States Constitution by the last administration, which used similar methods to strike fear here at home to bypass the judiciary and engage in warrantless searches and spying on American citizens, authorize torture of prisoners and hold others without charges or access to lawyers or courts. Due process of law was just another victim of the big scare.

You don’t scare me, because in 2009, with the experience of the last administration running this country into the worst economic meltdown since 1929, your Chicken Little strategy is only playing to a very small crowd of lemmings who, like the caged birds trained to push the button for a treat, will automatically forward copies of your letter without really questioning the merits of your vacuous allegations.

You don’t scare me, because even though you concede right up front in your ridiculous letter that you “know nothing about” President Obama, you then proceed to vilify him in a series of pronouncements about what you think he thinks and what you think his intentions are, as if you do in fact know something about him.

You don’t scare me, because although you identify yourself as the ‘foremost leader in change management,’ ‘a true living legend’ and ‘an acclaimed author, dynamic teacher and one of the world’s highest rated speakers,’ for some reason as of June 17, 2009 you don’t even have a bio in Wikipedia. In fact, your name is not listed anywhere in the Wikipedia database.

(Although I will concede that you travel in some pretty fast company and apparently have been photographed with a celebrity cartoon cat, or at least a guy in a giant Garfield costume.

You don’t scare me, because you are apparently nothing more than a self-aggrandizing, self-promoter, who rather than engaging in serious, intelligent discourse, has set out to trash the President in exchange for notoriety and potential remuneration, not unlike the “Limbaughs, Hannitys, O’Relllys and Becks” who are paid large amounts of money to trash the President and everything he does every day, (and whom you, ironically, claim the President is trying to ‘demonize’).

You don’t scare me, because like so many others who write to newspapers and rant on AM talk radio every day, rather than engaging in intelligent, substantive discourse to advance your political agenda, you are instead compelled to resort to defamatory ad hominem attacks, relying primarily upon jingoistic demagoguery, innuendo and falsehoods. You of all people, as a former soap salesman and sales development professional, should realize that’s a dead giveaway that you really have no confidence in the merits of your arguments. It is also thought by many to be the main reason why the Republican Party is presently in disarray.

You don’t scare me, because your statements about Mr. Obama such as ‘culturally you are not an American,’ are so ridiculous as to make people wonder how anyone could take anything you say seriously. Similar lame attempts to make President Obama out to be some sort of “Manchurian Candidate” were soundly rejected by voters last November. But please continue. It only exposes more of your ignorance.

You don’t scare me, because although it’s very easy to say things like “you lack humility and ‘class’, always blaming others,” when you make such simple-minded arguments, they sound more like a third-grader calling names on the playground than a rational, logical and cohesive statement of your concerns. But I guess your are assuming that is the mentality of the only potential audience you have left. In retrospect, our last president was not exactly known for his humility or class either, nor for his business acumen or military service, (not to mention accepting blame for anything… ever), yet I would suspect it is highly unlikely that you complained to the New York Times about it.

Finally, Mr. Pritchett, you don’t scare me, because when you make really goofy statements about Mr. Obama like “you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient,” people who have not already hit the delete button will either laugh or smile, shake their heads and say, “If this ‘living legend’ is as smart as he thinks he is, why can’t he come up with something better than this drivel?”

An American Who is Not Easily Scared

  3. Peggy dixon Says:

Thank you for both of the above replies.
I just received the awful letter written by Lou Pritchett and have sent both replies to the people who sent it to me. So glad to have such well thought out replies. Mine was simply that the person who wrote that, Lou Pritchett and the ones who agree are living in another universe, are paranoid or they are simply racist, probably all three.

  4. Ed Houck Says:

My rebuttal to the letter by Timothy Carroll. All my comments are submitted in parentheses and in blue.

A RESPONSE TO THE OPEN LETTER
    by Timothy Carroll
You are the umpteenth conservative I’ve had to listen to over my life and just like Nixon you truly scare me.
    • You scare me because no one knows you and yet many will believe your propaganda letter. Our President wrote two books about himself if you want to know him. (Judge a man by what he DOES, not what he SAYS, great advice from dying Carnegie Melon professor and author Randy Pausch in a video diary to his daughters regarding boys who will want to date them and good advice for anyone trying to evaluate anyone, including our President. He said the deficit under Bush was “inexcusable” and a “travesty” at $500 Billion. Agreed. He has added almost triple that in less than 8 months in office. Big difference there between words and actions, don’t you think?)
    • You scare me Lou because you believe that running a company and payroll will help us in mess brought on by the CEO’s from corporate America who are really gifted when it comes to payroll and CEO salaries. (This argument is particularly weak, what is known as a strawman argument. It is such a gross oversimplification of the mess it can be considered as nothing more than a play on Lou’s words. The CEOs in question were crooks and should be prosecuted. If CEO’s are inherently evil and have no skills which could contribute to solving our problems as you infer, then why did Obama bring in former Freddie and Fannie CEO’s to help correct the mess? Even Obama would disagree with you on this one.)
    • You scare me to think that a man must have military experience to lead the military, I would like to tell you about the greatness of both the Adams and Jefferson and what they have done for this country with no military background, but let’s look at two modern ones-20Wilson and FDR, hmmmm, I think those two might have helped us win a couple WORLD WARS!!!! (by relying on the military community such as MacArthur, Eisenhower, Patton, etc. See Churchill’s diaries for his frustration and desperation at Roosevelts indecisiveness while Roosevelt literally laid in bed in absolute depression for months on end and refused the needed equipment, financial, and troop support needed to keep Britain from being obliterated by Hitler) with no Military background I wonder how they did that? You also scare me because you don’t realize Barrack’s grandfather joined the U.S. troops when we were attacked at Pearl Harbor when FDR called on him, who by the way helped raise him in Hawaii, I think his grandfather would have installed (think you mean “instilled”) some American culture by this example alone.
    • You scare me to think that our President lacks humility and class while blaming others. Let’s see a direct quote “I screwed up” – President Barrack Obama in regards to his Daschle appointment. Well that seems pretty humble to me. (He said nothing after several other of his appointments also failed scrutiny such as Geithner as just one gross example. The man who would direct the Treasury and IRS didn’t pay taxes and uses Turbotax????)
    • You scare me to think that there’s a correlation between a man who bombed buildings when Barrack was eight years old and decades later when they serve on the same educational board. Now he has ties to domestic terrorism! Really! I mean really? (Really. Ayers had campaign events for Obama at his home. Distancing himself from Ayers was the only “damage control” strategy he could exercise. He knows Ayers VERY well. Do your homework) Come on; do better than that correlation to that old hippie Bill Ayers. Let’s see what the President said on YOUR Bill O’Reily show on 9-9-08 SEN.. OBAMA: “This guy is not part of my campaign. He’s not some adviser of mine. He is somebody who worked on education issues in Chicago that I know. (Ayers, like Obama, worked closely with ACORN counts of election fraud in the last Presidential election and who is the recipient now of BILLIONS hidden in “Stimulus” packages. Hmmmmmmm…..) The problem that your viewers, your guys, your folks, the folks you champion, the problem you’re going through, the problems they’re g oing through with trying to pay their bills, trying to keep their job, trying to move up in this world, their problem isn’t Bill Ayers. It was Bill Ayers 40 years ago when he was blowing stuff up.” Do you know Lou how many men served along side Timothy Mcveigh in the U.S. Military, hundreds of thousands and all those troops are now terrorist associates right. (Let’s see, Obama has socialized with Ayers, worked with him in his ACORN days, has events at his home, ACORN is the recipient of billions in the “Stimulus”, will participate in the coming Census….. It seems it’s YOUR analogy that is REALLY reaching or “far fetched”.) Sounds a little far fetched.
    • You scare me to think that America’s never wrong and that admitting to doing wrong is in some sort of way unpatriotic, read some of Thomas Jefferson’s writings if you want to see how an intelligent man views a hypocritical country he’s trying to run when he himself is of moral integrity. We have made mistakes and it is ok to say sorry. (Jefferson also said “Our country is never in greater peril than when the Congress and Senate are in session.” He also said “A democracy needs to be watered every now and again with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” He also vociferously opposed the creation of a centralized banking system where the government can pull the strings and manipulate the populace as the beginning of the end of liberty which he valued above all else, let alone the takeover, I mean “rescue” of our largest financial institutions. Jefferson was for EXTREMELY small and limited Federal government and Obama for a very strong and active, i.e. Socialist Federal government. Jefferson was the anti-Obama in most ways that pertain to being a President or as a mode of governing. Careful who you quote.) The Nazi’s and Soviets thought they too were always right and I think history has proved them wrong when it comes to such arrogance. Such arrogance will never be respected let alone trusted. (Who’s advocating arrogance?)
    • You scare me to think that our President actually had a choice when it came to bailing out these fortune 500 companies that had failed miserable at the hands of the Bush administration economic policies (mortgage and banking policies created many years ago by Barney Frank and Ted Kennedy which forced banks into unhealthy lending practices to high risk individuals by law or face huge fines by the Fed were the real culprits. The negative effect of those policies just happened to come home to roost under Bush who warned of a financial meltdown years prior and was assured by Mssrs. Dodd, who received sweetheart loans via Freddie and Fannie influence, and Franks on the Banking and Finance committee last July, just weeks before the actual meltdown, that all was well with the world, but nice try blaming Bush ) that ran amuck along with the housing market. No one wants socialism, (but you advocate for it later in this letter by duplicating the Socialized medicine of Canada and Europe…..) (it was socialist engineering of the housing market and forced quotas of percentages of high risk loans which caused the problem. I think many DO want socialism and this in particular was a large part of the catastrophe we witnessed) but you can’t let corporate mistakes (I know, you meant poor government legislation which forced the banks/corporations to make questionable loans on a mass scale or face the wrath of the federal government) ruin the whole country or even the world economy for that matter. If we had not bailed out GM and Chrysler, the unions would have lost their death grip on said companies, the primary reason those companies do not compete against Toyota, Honda, Nissan and others. They would then be able to compete against their non UAW/Teamster counterparts in the world market. GM and Chrysler make good cars, they just lose money due to unsustainable union agreements. Honda and Toyota have no UAW to raise their manufacturing costs yet pay their workers nicely thank you. As it is, Chrysler is largely now owned by the labor unions, the Obama administration intervened and broke contract law by defaulting on Chrysler bonds held by those such as the Indiana Teachers Retirement Fund, decimating it in the process. Apparently the teachers didn’t contribute as much to the Dems/Obama as the UAW/Teamsters or perhaps they would own Chrysler and not UAW.)
    • You scare me to think that you think the Health care system doesn’t need a complete overhaul. Do you know that government health care has already been successful throughout Europe and our sister country Canada, why d o we have to be behind the times with our medical care? (You really don’t know anything about the horrible negative effects of socialized medicine in those countries do you? Do some research. People from Canada cross the border when they want decent healthcare, so devastating have the effects of Socialism been to the quality of their healthcare system. It is not “successful” to say the least. And by the way, I thought you said nobody wanted Socialism?)

    • You scare me tremendously when you say that oil and other old sources of fuel that is untapped in this country and cause global warming are in preference of windmills. Okay? Based on what? Profits? Well then yes, anything else is destroying our planet. Again the world’s most renowned scientists all agree on this consistently already. (Not true. Huge disagreement in the scientific community, only unanymity in the liberal political world.)
    • You scare me to think that President Obama is killing the golden goose, Bush administration has already been there, done that. AIG, Fannie Mae, and Freddy Mac have already inflated and killed the American Dream for the millions of Americans who now can’t pay their mor tgage. (See earlier comments about Barney Franks and Ted Kennedy’s legislation forged over 15 years ago forcing ill-advised lending practices as law with huge penalties and the incurred wrath of the Feds if not adhered to.)
    • You scare me when you think the banks are being extorted. Read anything regarding the corruptness of the Federal Reserve and then talk to me about extortion and banks, they have extorted us throughout history and always will. (Agreed, except Obama is taking the extortion to unprecedented levels. See Jefferson’s comments earlier about a strong centralized banking system which now you seem to be arguing against. So are you defending Obama or agreeing with the extortion comment?)
    • You scare me to think that the democrats don’t worry about how much it is going to cost us to clean up the Bush mess, billions is nothing when we start talking trillions. We all suffer now from your fear. (????????????)
    • You scare me when you think that he doesn’t listen to intelligent opposition, yet he has appointed many republicans alongside of himself including John Mccue, the veteran congressman from upstate New York who joins his former colleague from Illinois, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood , and Utah Gov. Jon Hunstman , the ambassador-designate to China, are among the ranks of Republicans in the Obama administration, a list that nearly included New Hampshire Sen. Judd Gregg as Commerce Secretary. (Who declined because he disagrees with Obama’s vision of a monolithic/activist/Socialist Federal government.) He even kept one of Bush’s cabinet memebers with Robert Gates as Secatary of Defense. (That might have been one to lose!)
    • You scare the crap out of me when you think that President Obama believes he all-powerful and infinitely wise. When did he declare himself the second coming? Just because Oprah thinks he is the “ONE” doesn’t mean he does. Please stop twisting and believing everything Rush tells you. (This, like most of your characterization of conservatives, this is name calling and subjective, not objective or factual. Cheap shot. You are “twisting” here instead of refuting his arguments. You don’t know that he even listens to Rush, relegating this to the name calling of which you accuse Lou. Because Rush may agree with him doesn’t mean he got his ideas from Rush. Did it ever occur to the Left that Rush is popular because he articulates what many already believe? Liberal talk hosts aren’t popular because most citizens disagree with socialism and Rush advocates conservatism.) Again does the all-knowing ever say, “I screwed up”.
    • You scare me to think that the press gives him a free pass on everything. (Because even though freedom of the press is to be guarded, you don’t allow them to tell the enemy you’re coming!!!!! BAD analogy. He had the nickname Teflon Ron in this regard, (He was called Teflon Ron because regardless of the attempts by Leslie and her cohorts in an openly or covertly liberal press to villify him, people loved him so their attempts to make him look bad didn’t stick, like Teflon.. The Press was definitely anti-Reagan and they are definitely pro-Obama. The only thing we agree on here is the press is definitely not unbiased or journalistic.) what about the man who invented this game Lou?
    • You scare me to think that Limbaugh and O’Reily are not already looked upon as demons and propagandist among the majority (if you mean you and those you surround yourself who only agree with you) of people in this country. (Ummmmm, O’Reilly’s ratings are higher than all other shows combined in his time slot and literally has a larger market share than all MSNBC shows, Chris Matthews and Larry King combined! How would that mean a majority see them as demons? Rush is the #1 show nationally by a wide margin, the most successful radio program now and of all time!) They only sell seeds of hate and mistrust that leads ignorance to become rampant among the religious right. (Wow….., what a blanket, bigoted comment that was. Don’t give specific examples as Lou does, just name call and make accusations. “seeds of hate, mistrust….ignorance…. religious right. No issues, no substance, just pull the race card, the bigot card, then make your own bigoted statements by slamming religious conservatives as ignorant. I’m religious, I’m conservative, I guess I never realize that I’m filled with hate and mistrust and “us people” are becoming rampant! A bunch of dumb hicks who have an attachment to their guns and God, huh?) If Obama thinks that then why did he go on Bill’s show? (Because it’s the #1 political commentary show by a wide margin, beating Larry King, Chris Matthews and all of MSNBC’s shows combined, literally, and O’Reilly made open invitations on air with no response from Obama, who finally had to respond if only to address O’Reilly’s huge audience and position himself, somewhat disingenuously, as a moderate, almost conservative in order to appeal to O’Reilly’s viewers, he had no choice but to respond.) They will have you believe that they are the ones being ousted and the mainstream media is on par with that “ Elite Black guy”. We know this already by them blaming then nominee Obama for the stock market crash in November before the election even started! Some intelligent people realize that President Obama did not have anything to do with the collapse of the U.S. economy and voted for him. (NOBODY I know blames Obama for anything prior to January, only the solutions to those problems, many of which are advocated by Mr Dodd, Mr Franks, and the late Ted Kennedy, creators of the problems to begin with… the inmates are now running the asylum!) Some don’t, and then again some people blame all Jews for the death of Jesus. When you go to Rush Limbaugh who was fired for racist comment regarding a black quarterback (Donovan Mcnabb) (see the actual comments which were not racist.. He simply said the enthusiastic press buzz surrounding McNab had more to do because he was one of the first successful black quarterbacks than for an out of the ordinary ability on the field. It was and is a true statement but was interpreted as racist by those who interpret any white man’s comments on race as racist and any black man’s comments, regardless of how outrageous go without comment in our PC culture, see Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, et. al. But calling Rush a bigot fits your playbook. You probably don’t know what he said nor do you listen to his program yet quote him frequently as if he was stopping Obama from being successful. If everyone thinks he’s a demon as you suggest, how could he be impacting Obama????? Where would his influence be? Or if everyone thinks he’s a bigot and demon, how does he have the #1 audience now and in the history of radio by a wide margin. Or how could Rush, a bigot (your words), have the #1 audience in a country unbigoted enough to elect a black man? Can’t have it both ways. Sorry, didn’t mean for logic to deter your arguments….) for your information, then expect to think like bigot if you listen to one. (you realize you just called religious conservatives ignorant bigots, Lou a bigot, getting his information from Rush, all without ever knowing he even listens to Rush, then say the majority don’t listen to Rush, the “demon”. Who said he listens to Rush. Did I miss it in his letter? Illogical to the extreme.)
    • You scare me because you prefer hate instead of common sense. When will you realize that your bipartisan right wing conservatism hate is a thing of the past? (Wow. Wow. Wow. The statement doesn’t even make sense! Stick to facts instead of name calling, the refuge of those without an objective argument. Common sense? Pure emotional name calling and absolute absence of common sense or logic.) The people already know and have spoken. We DON’T believe you. We don’t believe in your fear that has already crippled the whole country since 9/11. We don’t believe in your fear of our first black president because he’s our first black president. (Who said Lou is afraid of our first black president??? I am GLAD we have arrived at a time in our history that we could elect a black president! I’m in disagreement with his politics! DON”T pull the race card because you can’t refute a legitimate difference of ideology! Name calling and racial pimping does not become anyone and does nothing to advance ideas) Do you honestly think that we believe him to be an unknown, elite, un-American, financially inept, classless, terrorist sympathizer, who hates America but loves Europe and is also a corporate killing, socialist, extorter, who doesn’t listen to intelligent people like Rush Limbaugh because he thinks that he is Jesus Christ. Get a grip Lou! We don’t and never will believe in your fear, FDR has already warned us of your hate mongers and even stopped one by the name of Adolph while warning of another by the name of Joseph (If you mean Stalin, who killed more of his own people than Hitler killed in the Holocaust, he enslaved Eastern Europe to Soviet Socialism, gulags, forced starvation . Churchill fought Roosevelt’s desire to hand over Eastern Europe to Stalin, which he did, for that reason but Roosevelt won out because of U.S. power and influence. Or did you mean Macarthy? :-)). When will we learn our lessons of fear mongering that you use are the same as Hitler used in scaring the German people that the Jews were out to get them? (You mean like your hate mongering accusation that ignorant Christian right-wingers are bigots and don’t like Obama because he’s black?) The same fear that drove Stalin to kill millions of innocent people (to whom Roosevelt, apparently your hero, handed Eastern Europe, lambs handed to the wolves). You either do not know history or you do and if you do my dear sir it is truly scary. (No offense, but I think, in the words of Michael Jackson, look at the man in the mirror on this one.)
    • Finally, you scare me because some people will actually never read my letter and only yours.. (His letter was well thought out, was objective, did not pull the race card as you do, did not resort to name calling when he could not come up with an intelligent refute of a different viewpoint. I wish that all could read your letter so we could understand the twisted perspective of those who voted for and were willing to hand our country over to someone who advocated nebulous concepts of Hope and Change with no substance as to what type of change, and that Hope meant redistribution of wealth to those who didn’t sweat through college and work hard. ) When do we have a world in which fear does not reign over freedom? When will all men and women be created equally in your eyes and those that believe your letter? When will the hate stop? When will the lies cease to exist? (Good question? Oh, I see it’s just another paragraph and it’s over!)When will your children and mine be able to base people on there merits and not the words of others. When will we as one nation under God be just that? When? Hopefully soon because you are truly SCARING THE HELL OUT OF ME!

P.S. I know my letter is a little longer, but that happens when you include some facts (Seriously? This was one of the most illogical, feelings based, “We Are The World”, diatribes I’ve ever read. FACTS??? Seriously???) in trying to tell someone that they no longer have to be afraid of the “Elite Black Devil” (Ah, yes, I remember Lou referring to him as a black devil, wait, no I don’t……oh, just another reach for the race card, call Lou a racist when you can’t refute his points with fact…) , he just might be good person after all. (Obama may be a good person. I hope so. Our issues are with his IDEAS. His IDEAS and recipes of socialism as a cure to our ills has been tried and failed miserably every time to the extent and in proportion to the level of its implementation). By the way the ones who should be really scared are the republicans. Letters like his is what killed your party and made it into a Southern Political Machine with no sign of any hope. Did I say HOPE? Cause now I finally have some! Oh yeah this letter doesn’t have to be initially anonymous either!

  5. John Brenneman Says:

90% of my friends agree that Obama is a disaster. But then you would not print any letter supporting Mr. Pritchett. You list only four comments and they all rail against him. Obama will not make any decisions unless he is forced by circumstances (like helping Haiti where he had not choice). I have not seen anything about what he wants in healthcare reform, rather relying on Pelosi and Reid, so he cannot be blamed for anything. Get you head out of the dirt and look at what is happening to our country.

  6. Leonard Fairchild Says:

What I don’t get (other than how we can have such an idiot for a president) is why would the Muslims even want this??? They have to know that it will only breed more anger towards them. The good news is this may be the straw that breaks the camels back to bring the U.S.A. back to a true United Country. I do feel so sorry for the poor souls that lost loved ones in 911, what a total slap in their face. I’m sorry.
